This one is for the folks and friends back home... Last night I fed the monkey, and I give bigger bites and let her hold the spoon... comedy ensued... I will let the pics speak for themselves...

So we have a new pet at our house, Hopper, a king toad... he is about eight inches in length, probably weighing in a bit over a pound... He hangs out on our porch with the dogs, who are scared of him, and we feed him bugs from time to time... a few nights ago he ate a beetle almost an inch in length... not much going on here with the weather lately...

This is the new video that I am sending to folks that have a problem with anything that I am doing...

So, Super Good News on the Magnus front.. he is recovering fully and is already back at the house. He already looks great and wants to run around and work, but he is going to have a few weeks on that. Thor did great at school today, and Sarah got to work him for the first time in a while... she was loving it, and he did great for her.

All else is well in paradise... Late... E.

Yesterday was a rough day for us, but a super bad day for Andrew... Two nights ago Andrew came down for dinner and brought Magnus, Thor's brother, and we let them beat each other up for a while... Magnus usually kicks Thor's butt... Everything was cool, and then late that night he started throwing up and then having bloody stool. Andrew rushed him to the vet early yesterday, and thank God that Dr. Patino was here, he lives in San Jose and is in Nosara 2 days every two weeks... this guy has amazing luck... Chiqui's dog was attacked by a Pizote and would have died with Patino was not here. They initially thought that Magnus had swallowed something large, a rock or wood... and they needed to do emergency surgery... Three hours later it turns out that Magnus had a freak occurrence where he drank a bunch of water and then he and Thor started playing and it created a vacuum where his small intestine was sucked into his large intestine and the vacuum holds it together stopping all flow... The surgery went well, but the part of the intestine was too large to remove, so he is not out of the woods yet... We are hoping to hear good news today... These dogs are like children... you spend so much time working with them you become quite attached... We are praying everything turns out ok...

A friend just made Sarah and Kemper's month yesterday by giving us a walker. Kemper is loving it.

On another note, Nosara is such a strange town... yesterday we heard that a local tico surfer Correa was killed by a shark at Popoyo in Nica. I hope this is not true, but chances are that we will hear 20 different stories between now and when he shows back up in Nosara... You can't trust any information that you hear here... I think about 25% is based on fact.

I have posted videos of Correa at the bull fights, he is a kind of crazy kid that was always fun to watch... Surfs super good also... So, here is hoping that la gente have it wrong again...

What up friends? I am stoked today on a number of levels... Let's start with the fact that this next swell may be good. I just hope I am not too out of shape... We haven't had a real swell since I returned from my states drinking tour and I don't know if I am fully back yet.

I launched the new surfing nosara last week, and except for a few small issues, like my email is not working yet and the photos are not up on the blog (still on the old server) everything is looking great... Surfing Nosara has been climbing the google ranks for the past year and I am proud to say that we are on the 1st page for a search of "nosara." which is great! We have been up there for anything that has to do with surfing for a few months. The forum may end up being a pretty good idea also, we already have folks using it.

So, for Kemper news, she is now reaching for us when she wants to be picked up! And last night she was kind of cranky and fell asleep dancing with dad to some bob... only takes one song now...

Peace in the middle east.. E.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Hello all, we are wrapping up a good week here in Nosara. There is a good swell heading our way, should start showing today. Kemper is getting some more teeth and is pretty crabby because of it. Sarah is getting into yoga, and is constantly sore. And I have been trying to launch the new surfing nosara site for the last week, but keep having setbacks... it will be nice though!

I am hoping that this next week slows down a bit, because I can say that this may be the most stressed that I have been since the initial move down. It is tough working eight hours a day...

Anyways, these should be coming more frequently now that the new site is almost done, starting looking for that here at www.surfingnosara.com... also, the blog may be down for a day or so, as I am switching servers with the new site, and will have to reinstall the whole blog, 130 posts, which may take a while...

later on... E.

We had a great time last week with Sarah's longest friend Beth and her man Scott... All sorts of good stuff went down, and at some point I will get it up...

Until then, here are some photos...

Everything is good in paradise this week... we have a super happy, healthy baby, the waves have been ok, the weather has been great, and Sarah's best friend from back in the day is down visiting. I love it when folks come to visit, because we get to relive how much we love this place and fall in love with it all over again. Beth and Scott have eaten at Dolce Vita, and Lagarta, our favorite restaurants, hung out at some of our favorite secret beaches and are loving the Costa Rican experience. Right now they are at the yoga institute getting worked... Sarah is doing it also, I hope she is hanging in there...

We are heading to Arenal sometime in the next week for a night to show off our volcano... That should be a good time also.

The surfing nosara website was hacked and I never knew until today... I went to send an email to my loyal readers about the best deal that I have seen since working here, a $36,000 lot in the NCA, L section... basically a no-brainer, throwing them a bone, and the email we sent over 100 times to everyone... shit... What happened was that someone hacked the site a few months ago so that this would happen when I sent my first mailing... thanks jackass...

All else is well, and I am off to surf for a bit...

Chow... E.

I know that it has been a while, but we have been all over the place. So, Hey Folks... I hope that everyone out there is doing great! Also let me say that we had a blast in the states, and we miss you guys a ton! But, It is great to be back in Costa...

Every trip home I always think a lot about our decision to move here and I must say that I get a bit nervous second guessing myself. Well, I do miss friends and family, but other than that both Sarah and I love our lives here. I don't think we will be moving home anytime soon. The people are just so nice and chill.

The waves have been great this past week, we got into Nosara on Friday and Saturday morning I got a big ol' dry barrel to welcome me back. Yesterday the waves glassed off about 2, which doesn't happen often, and Nick, Adu, and I scored some of the most fun waves there are... head high and long, long lines.

On our walk to the beach this morning, we had some fun. There were about 10 cows on the road, and Sandy (old bones) our healer was on them. They chased the cows for a bit then a cow turned on them and started chasing Sandy and Mac. It was pretty comical. Then I got Sandy all fired up and she actually went and nipped a cow in the heal. Here is a pic of the cow chasing them down...

So, more to come later, just thought I would get a note up as I got an email from a friend jones'n for an entry.

Oh, Kemper and Sarah are great, and kemper cut her first tooth on Saturday! At 4 months on the day... she is also 67 cm tall now and that is off the chart for height in the states...
