Hello from Sunny Georgia! I was under the impression that we were coming back to the states to relax for a while, and have discovered that its not the place but the people that provide adventure, and I seem to be one of them. I will recap the past few days briefly, as some funny things have gone on.

The flight was great, but I hate travelling. I don't think there are many other times that you feel more like cattle than when you fly. Friday started great, when the hotel forgot our wakeup call, Thor woke us up, and then our driver forgot to pick us up.. We got a cab. Then we get to the airport and had changed our tickets so we had to pay some fees. The genius, who happened to be a very nice genius, decided to charge our CC once for each fee instead of all together. So, after 3 charges in Costa Rica, MasterCard decided that we were being robbed, and stopped paying them. It took us an hour to check into the flight. But, the guy felt bad for Sarah, who was laying on the pregnant thing, and hooked us up with first class. First Class on Martin Air is quite nice.

The ordeals started when we got to the airport and went through customs. Since we were first Class, our bags came out first, and we got through immigration first. Then we had to wait 15 minutes for Thor. The was pumped to see us, but needed to pee really badly. I asked the officer at the door if he could watch me walk Thor for a second and I was told that I could not go out side or let him out for any reason. Getting him though customs was easy but then the airport made us give back our bags and Thor becuase we were in a terminal, not the main concourse. So, at this point Thor has been in his crate for 6 hours, and is ready to explode. They take him and our bags back outside and we have to go catch the tram to the baggage pickup. To do this we have to go through airport security, taking off shoes, and giving up our water (they had already taken Sarah's fruit). Long story short, it took another hour and fifteen mintues from that point for Thor to come back out. We landed at 2:20 and didn't leave the airport until 4:30. Good job Orlando, you certainlly put some thought into that! Thor exploded all over the sidewalk where you get picked up, and we just left it!

Over the weekend, we chilled with our amigos from St. Aug and Gainesville at the Gator game. We got tickets and made it through a half in the heat before peanut wanted to go into some A/C. It is nice taking hot showers and sleeping on comfortable beds. One thing that I just realized that I have not mentioned is that in our new house our bathroom only has a tub, so I shower outside with cold water.

On Saturday night, we decided to go to bed early and not go out with our friends to bars and such, as this is about the last thing that Sarah wants to do, and we got on the road very early. We stopped in Starke to get breakfast at Hardee's, which by the way may be the worst food I have eaten in months. About fifteen mintues after that stop we were discussing how nice it is to drive on such smooth roads, and how safe we feel, when a (I would use some expletives here but I won't) gorda chica from Starke runs a stop sign and hits us. We were doing 50 mph and the impact from her hitting our rear driver side tire knocked us into a fish-tail. Thank God that no one was coming the other way as we went though the on-coming traffic lane and slammed into a speed limit sign. No one was really hurt. The cops made it out in about ten minutes, and from the first second it was very clear that they were trying to pin the wreck on us! It was foggy early in the morning, but at the time of the wreck the fog had almost completely burned off. Sarah had turned off her headlights and left on the side lights. The cop was trying to tell us that that was the cause of the accident and was pushing the blame towards us. We later found out that he was friends with the redneck girl who hit us, I think they were cousins that used to date a little back in the day. Luckily for us, another officer showed up and we had 4 witnesses that all said it was not foggy, and he wrote the gorda chica the ticket. To make matters worse, we didn't opt for the insurance on the rental car, and no longer have coverage in the states. (how on earth are we going to get in a wreck in the states after driving in Costa for 3 months with no accidents???) The inbred cop then tells us that Florida is a no-fault state, and that it is our insurance company that needs to pay for the car, and that we can't go after her insurance company! This is a lie, so he either does not know what a no-fault state is, or was once again trying to screw us and protect is ex. No worries though, becuase my tranquillo pura vida vibe carried us though and it turns out after talking to Mrs. Lucansky, who is a claims adjuster at Nationwide, that we went after the gorda chica's insurance and will be fine! So, all the wreck ended up costing us was a day. And to be honest, it was the nicest day I have ever spent in Starke. HA.
