Super good waves, and still taking it from the Ticos...

Good news, bad news today... Let's start with the good, because I am an optomistic person. The surf today was the best since the first few weeks of living here. After three days of large, florida type surf, this morning was full on Pacific, glassy juice. Long makeable lines! You really get to see how much you are progressing when the waves let you go full steam!

On to the bad... Gustavo, the mechanic who did the engine repairs, said that we needed one more repair, la frena.. or the master belt. and a connecting disk on the engine. So, after his professionalism, I took it to Carlso Pena, the mechanic who I thought would steal the parts, because he has the same trooper he is trying to rebuild. So he does the work and brings the car back to me. Turns out, the belt and disk were new, and that Gustavo just wanted to borrow the car for a few days to make another 150 bucks. So Carlos still did the work for some reason, and gave me an oil change. He felt bad that I got taken, and only charged me for the part, not the work. Oil changes are fun down here too, they are about 60 bucks! Becuase the oil is so expensive. like 5 bucks a quart! Also, Carlos said that the motor would not have blown if we didn't fix it, and that the oil leak is fine, I just need to monitor it. Great, who needed that 150 bucks???

So, Sarah had her massage today, and is in a pretty good mood today. Looks like that will be another weekly expense. But its only 50 bucks for an hour, and Jessie comes to your house.

Hasta Jovenes.
